Santokhi, Irfaan Ali, Modi Inaugurate Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2023 in Indore
President Chandrika Prasad Santokhi of Suriname, President Irfaan Ali of Guyana, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India inaugurated the 17th edition of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) on Monday January 9 in Indore. It was an overflowing Brilliant convention hall of thousands. More than 3,500 delegates registered for the conference. Dozens of Guyanese were part of the delegation of President Ali. Several Surinamese also attended the event.

Ali is the Chief Guest while Santokhi is the Guest of Honor. Santokhi was Chief Guest in January 2021. Presidents Santokhi and Ali showered lavish praises on PM Narendra Modi. They also reiterated condolences to him on the passing of his mother last week at age 100.
